About Steph Troeth
Steph is the Head of Research at dxw, a UK digital agency specialising in creating public services that improve lives. Prior to that, she helped London startups scale up their research practice, and was a senior researcher on contract at Google, working on their internal product suite that keeps Google’s services up 99.999% of the time. She also previously led design research at the Telegraph and spearheaded European customer research with MailChimp. A regular speaker at conferences, Steph undertakes guest lectures annually at the University of Greenwich.
Steph has a completely unrelated addiction to writing science-fiction short stories. When not bound to a digital device, she makes things by hand, grows edible flowers and has a tendency to cook enough to feed a continent at a time. She now lives on her 4th continent on her 4th island in the UK.
Story techniques for compelling research insights
A great deal rests on research insights: it can improve a product, or it can have an impact on organisational strategy.
“Show, don't tell” might be a mantra creative writers have been practicing for successful storytelling, but how do we apply this to conveying gems in the results of our studies? As research practitioners, we tend to have far more conversations about research methods, and yet without the skill to convey insights, our impact might be limited.
In this hands-on workshop, Steph will show you how to use techniques in storytelling to communicate insights in an effective and engaging way—so that our findings better resonate with those we need to persuade or whose minds we need to change.
Steph will deliver this workshop on day one, June 28th
Day one focused on preparing. Build the right thing …informed by research.
